I have had this malware pop up several times in the last few months. Then few days ago, DW's computer got it. She goes to completely different websites than I do, so this particular malware is all over the web. I rebooted her computer to get out of the malware, but then when I opened Chrome again, she had it set in Settings so that it resumes where you left off, meaning same tabs will be open when Chrome is opened again, including the malware we're discussing.
So I had to uninstall Chrome, then reinstall it, then change the setting so that Chrome doesn't go back to the same tabs when re-opened. Then as someone said, if the malware appears, do Ctrl-Alt-Delete > Task Manager > close Chrome, then reopen Chrome.
I have Malwarebytes, but it seldom finds anything at all. We also use SuperAntiSpyware, Free version. It doesn't seem to solve this problem, but it always removes an awful lot of spyware.
