USING CHROME BROWSER

I have been using both FIREFOX and CHROME for a long time but here recently (past couple of days) I have been getting an AD from AMAZONAWS that blocks my computer from being used and Microsoft jumps in and tells me I have a TRACKER capable of getting my personal data.

Computer lock ups and wants me to call MICROSOFT at one of their tech supports number 888-609-0405 or 888-609-0407...

I am able to reset the computer and after I am on again for a few minutes I get the same thing again.

I have finally figured out it is when I am logged into WOODALLs FORUM when using the CHROME BROWSER... I downloaded the latest version of CHROME which I was already using and same results...

When using Microsoft Edge or FIREFOX browser all works just fine...

Just curious if anyone is experiencing this...

Have been using FIREFOX now for my some ten or so TABs that are opened shared between two of my 24-inch monitors... All is normal so far now... My computer is WIN 10...

TOMKAREN13 - I did do a check on the 888 number and thought it said it was MICROSOFT Technical Serv... Had five or six number all around the o4o5 number...

It has a audio with it and they say they are MICROSOFT urging you to call the 888 number...

Nope did not call it or click on anything on the page...

MALWAREBYTES came up with the AMAZONAWS link... I had two on my computer one with more additional ltrs and the a second one with (2) after it... Both of those got deleted... Then today it popped again when I was using CHROME... This time it didn't find any adware... I ran MALWAREBYTES again...

I hate this **** haha... Have been using FIREFOX and CHROME for many years with no problems at all...

The only way to get going again is to REBOOT... My computer is a DELL INSPIRON 17R5737 using INTEL CORE i7-4500U CPU x64 bit processor...

What else did you do to get rid of it...

  • DO NOT call that "customer service number." It is NOT an official number and is a Trojan worm!!
It also came thru on our Edge.
  • Definitely NOT Microsoft "jumping in". A clear case of malware. I use Chrome exclusively and have never seen anything like that from any RV.Net portal.

    X 2 on Malwarebytes
  • Hi Roy,

It sounds like some adware has snuck itself into Chrome. I use Chrome with Woodalls and experience no such advertisement.

I recommend downloading the free version of Malwarebytes and run a scan on your computer. It should find what's bugging Chrome and delete it for you.
