that govt program actually worked for an hour or two when first introduced but the spammers quickly adapted (read that as ignored).
the list was nothing more than that...a list of numbers. the idea was that "advertisers" (spammers) would abide by the list or face fines. two problems. first, the list identified actual, by-God working phone numbers. no more guessing by the spammers! second, the spammers are all off-shore putting them out of reach of the FTC and their fines. good intentions but that's about all.
we finally dumped our copper landline and went with Xfinity which has NoMoRoBo built in. our spam calls dropped from 4-5 per day to maybe 1 or 2 a month and I can add those numbers to the NoMoRoBo database. and we added the NMR app to our Verizon smart phones. at ~$2 per month it is definitely worth it. spam calls are virtually zero and for those that do get thru I can add those numbers to the NMR database.
