THAT may not do much real good either.

The scammers are under NO legal obligation to send their own CID number with their calls (HUGE loophole in the law).
They can even send YOUR NUMBER as caller ID on a call to YOU.

You probably are blocking future calls to you from SOMEBODY but the trash callers use a different number every day......or every hour.

That way no one can leave a message period.
Problem solved for robo calls, marketing, etc.

What I found with voice mail is the caller calls, leaves a message and as far as they are concerned their responsibility part of the call is done. They assume you have received and read it and acting upon it accordingly.

Only thing is If you are NOT one of those that checks your voice mail every 2 seconds, a very serious call/emergency may not be returned in a timely fashion.

Texts and only texts IMHO is the only way to converse on a cell phone. One button touch and it's all there to view and one button touch to reply. And you can block with one touch also. Something you can't do with the phone voice mail.

I have found the complete opposite of your recommendation. Spammers rarely leave a message and robo call virtually non existent in voice mail. If it is a spammer they will not waste their time. They get paid by the sale not wasting their time leaving a worthless message.

I use my phone for business and to make sure family can keep in touch. Why would I eliminate a tool to that end?

As far as your last comment about the texts. That is exactly how my voicemail works also.

The latest thing is to spoof a number with the same area code and prefix as yours so it looks like someone in your area (friend or family member with a new or borrowed phone).

I have had them spoof actual numbers of legitimate companies.

Another thing to try is after the message starts hit 3 ...that will skip to the message.

Don't answer the phone and wait for a voice message. Works for us.

I think I'll just let it fill up or decommission it. I rarely use vm for anything.
