A really good movie is like an A-1 book, sometimes you want to re-read/watch it. Sometimes I go back to a movie just to revisit favorite parts. Unfortunately most movies made in the last 20 years are instantly forgettable. So in one way you're right.
Have you ever watched Abbot and Costello's skit "Who's On First"? Ever want to watch it again? Great movies are just like that.
