If you do have a Bluray player, you can burn a Bluray compatible 1080i HD disc using a regular DVD. You're limited to about 50-55 minutes time using a regular 4.7G DVD. Most all newer Bluray players will playback Blurays made from DVD, except for some first generation models. In fact, I still have not purchased a Bluray burner, but have made numerous Bluray discs from Sony Vegas Pro. It does take some time to render from timeline, and saves the Bluray disc to an .iso file. In Windows 7/8, you just need to right click this file and select burn to DVD.
