I would like input on the various video streaming. Roku3 is rated high but do I need all those features?

You might be more specific about what you want to accomplish. Me, I just plug an HDMI cable between my laptop and TV to stream whatever I wish direct from my browser.
I have a Chromecast devise but it caused my Samsung TV to cycle off and on and didn't accomplish everything the above mentioned setup does.
