Possible yes, cheap, no.

Simple, yes if you are having the cameras installed and setup via a paid service. No, if you are wanting to DIY..

There are many security camera systems which have a built in DVR function that you could install. Many of these offer remote viewing of the cameras and DVR but will require considerable setup to do so.

Many of those wiresless IP cameras will require some outside "host" which you will pay a monthly fee in order to view them remotely. So you will need to shop around..

The security camera/DVR packages look like they may be the better route but if you are technically challenged it may be better to have a pro system installed (at a higher upfront cost).. Just be aware that many Pro systems will require a monthly monitoring fee..
