Volt meter or multimeter recommendation please

I am told I should have a volt meter or multimeter in my Class A gas RV tool chest but I have no idea what type or style. I don't even know the difference between a voltmeter and multimeter! I searche...

The Harbor freight $5.00 meter will be just fine to check for 12 Volts DC or 120 Volts AC or continuity. If you watch they often have a coupon for a free one. I have 3 or 4 of those as well as a couple of $400.00 Flukes. :)
