Wdw8 down to Wdw7 in laptop
If I buy a new HD for my Toshiba - which came with WDW8 - can I just install a new WDW7 program on it and toss this WDW8 OS in the trash can where it belongs ... What I want is WDW7, but couldn't f...

Back here for a minute - but have decided to return to Wdw7 ... I can't even explain the things that happen, it's so frequent. Screens suddenly open with a bunch of tiles, or a satellite, or some other feature - but the screens do nothing - No back button, no go button, nothing - so I have to hit the Wdw flag button to escape, and I lose my work and have to start over.
I open a document, I work on it, and suddenly, the document shuts, a screen comes up with 'tiles' asking me to buy it so the program works. I don't click anything - and then when I try to find these 'hidden icons' that seem to be a various places on the screen, what kind or moron designs a screen where everything is hidden and you have to move the mouse around attempting to locate - makes NO sense to me.
In any event - so many different interruptions occur and all these screens appear with out asking, and I can't even back out of them, I have to click desktop, go back, and start over.
And, for the Q about documents. I try to open it online, it says I don't have the new Word program, I save it to a folder, and it saves as the new Word program - which I don't have nor does my editor. When I try to open it in the new folder, it says I don't have the new Word program and it won't open. She sent it in MSWord 2007, same as I sent it originally. Somewhere between her laptop and my laptop it got put into new MSWord ...
I'm guessing somewhere in this HD is the new MSWord program, and it's designed to convert all the word documents directly to itself, and to show the "buy me" sign each time a person opens a word document. So, if I can find that hidden new Word program converter, I can uninstall it and it won't do that anymore.
Not very tech smart monkey here, but am not quite ignorant either - so, somehow this WDW8 defeats me - and it seems like all this hidden clicks and icon is ridiculous - WHY hide it? I'm now occasionally discovering an icon on the screen when I hover over it - still makes NO sense, WHY hide it.
