I also just got a new laptop with Windows 8, and have to admit that it is different. I have installed the "Classic Shell" so now it looks like Windows 7 which has been some help finding my way around. My biggest problem has been getting used to the touch pad on the new computer, and that is not Windows fault. I am more used to a mouse or a touchpad/button combination, and I am having trouble remembering the "new" touch techniques needed for this new style pad. I often open or close things or jump around unintentionally. If my hand coordination does not improve, I think I will have to get a wireless mouse. Meanwhile, my Office and Acrobat programs from my old computer loaded up fine, and seem to work OK.
