For the RV, I have the
Cobra 29LX CB Radio with built in weather alert. We use the radio for talking to our camping buddies while traveling and tuning to channel 19 when experiencing traffic jams but the radio automatically tunes into the strongest weather station wherever you are and will alert as well with a very loud alert tone. As long as there is power to the radio, the weather alert will function even if the radio is turned off. The downside of the radio is when the alert goes off, you have to turn the radio on to hear the actual alert. I also have a
Midland 75-822 Portable CB Radio that I take with us camping. When we arrive at a destination, I turn the Cobra radio on to see what weather station we are on at that locale then I tune the portable radio to the same weather station. I leave the portable radio next to the bed so if the Cobra alerts, I simply turn the portable radio on to hear the alert. Works for me.
At home, we have the
Midland WR300 Weather Radio which I have programmed only to alert for our county and all surrounding counties. Very nice weather radio!
