I came across this site recently and found it works very well in measuring your speed. It's also very easy to remember: www.fast.com Just thought I'd share it for general info.

yup, and none will give you the same results each time. speed depends on many different factors that can change in the blink of an eye. it's the nature of the beast when I care to know I run the test 3-times in a row and average the results.
