What are the best Apps?

Just dumped the talk only phone and now can become smart. I'm amazed what this Note 4 is capable of doing but have a lot to learn to use it.

I got a few basic apps like Gas Buddy, Road Ninja, Facebook, and e-mail. So many apps and hard to understand what may be of the most use.
Bring on your recommendation's of what I need. Randu
  • With little doubt in my opinion the best single app for RVers is ALLSTAYS Camp & RV.
  • Here's a few:

    RV Parky
    Gas Buddy
    WeatherBug
    Hurricane Software
    My Pilot
    Satellite AR
    Eset Security
    Lookout
    FireFox
  • We like finding great local restaurants. We use Urbanspoon often.
    I second DISHPOINTER.

Here is a thread that asked that question several months ago.

    App thread

That Thread was from Summer of 2013. Unfortunately with this tech - change happens quick. There are new apps out, and some have moved on. Revisting this topic is not a bad thing.
  • Besideswhat you mentioned, the App I use the most with RoadAbode is Google Maps. Not just for GPS, but I can ask "OK Google, wheres the nearest WalMart" Or Ask OK Google show me Grocery Stores" and I can find stuff pretty quick. Past that I enjoy reading books on my Note 2 - and your Note 4 I think is even bigger?

I use a reader called Moon Reader. You can even hook it up to some free library of books.
I use Pandora to listen to online music radio while driving - have tried others and keep going back. Interface is easy.

Glympse is cool - some don't like it though. It allows you to text or email someone your location and they can watch on a map (if they are on a smartphone or computer) your ETA to a location - otr too them. Great when I'm meeting someone so they know when I'll be at the restaurant or whatever.

And all these I use the free versions - except Moon Reader - I bought that when it was on sale for the connect to librarys feature.

Just for Fun - Google Sky to locate Planets, stars and other night objects.
Good Luck - enjoy the new toy!

  • KOA campground App. And for that very, very rare time we need one: Motel pet Friendly app:"Pets welcome lodging".

And remember.... although not an true App, I do have a browser link on my phone I pad that opens FIRST to RV.net.
  • Satellite AR... If you have a dish, this app will locate Dish Network or DirectTV satellites (amongst others) through your phones camera giving you a view of where the satellites are in the sky and if any obstructions (trees, etc...) are in the way. It's very easy to use and best of all... It's free.
