What automatic antenna

I have dish at home with three VIP612DVR receivers. I want to carry one and maybe two receivers with me on trips.
I am tired of setting up the dish and want to mount an antenna on RV roof.
Which ones do I consider, starting with the cheapest first?
Thanks for your replies.

  • The 612 receiver might work with the Pathway X2 but I don't believe so as it is specifically designed to be used with the 211/411/Wally single tuner receivers.
You are likely going to be unhappy with that dual tuner receiver with anything less than an open faced, manually pointed antenna is the roof mounted automatics are out of your budget. You might consider a new single tuner receiver with a hard drive to provide a single tuner DVR setup but you won't be able to watch different channels on different TV's.
  • I have a Pathway X2 and am very happy with it.

Another advantage is it’s the only carry out that lets you choose either the eastern or western arcs. Can help when fighting trees etc.

For ONE receiver you could use something like a Wingard Pathfinder X2

For TWO you can not use an automatic antenna because you may need to see two satellites at one time and none o the automatics can do that.

    Wrong on both counts.

    OP has a 2-tuner receiver -- Pathway X2 is for 1-tuner receivers.

Two, 1-tuner receivers can be used with an X2. However, both have to watch shows on the same satellite.
  • I guess we will have to be satisfied with only one Receiver.
What are the choices of the ones compatible with my Receiver?
    Thanks

YOU COULD, however use one automatic antenna per receiver.
  • You will need a Winegard Trav'ler or RF Mogul Eagle. Both are excellent. The Winegard is less expensive and then a 100's more dealers but both are pretty pricey. Plan on around $1500-$1800 installed.

The VIP612 is a dual-tuner receiver. The only rooftop dish that will work with 2 or more tuners is the Winegard Travler -- your most expensive option.

I suggest getting a Tailgater or Pathway X2 with a single tuner Wally or 211 receiver.
