maybe. but in our case it's about as simple as it can be. the initial setup took about 15-minutes. after the set it up the rest was automatic. when the engine starts the camera starts recording and continues to record until the engine is turned off. the view is wide angle so there's no driver interaction needed while on the move. given what we've witnessed over the past 32-seasons I'm glad we purchased this.
