Already had the nuvi, so I picked up a Dash Cam 55 with voice control, like the nuvi. On sale. Sweet.
Had a near miss a few weeks back at an intersection we go through all the time. As we approach it, I see a guy pull up at right angles to the thru roadway that we're on. He stops, because he has the stop sign (we don't have a stop sign), everything looks and feels normal. Then, just as we're about to roll thru at speed, he starts to pull through the intersection. The rest was a blur, I guess he sees us coming at him at 45mph, probably soils himself, and stops abruptly about halfway into our through lane, in the intersection. I reacted and managed to perform evasive maneuvers and avoid contact, as I had just enough roadway left to avoid his nose and the ditch on the right side. If he hadn't locked them up after his faux pas, we'd still be there sorting it out.
And so, the dash cam purchase.
