Chiefneon - RedRocket204ExplorerThere is also a newer version of the Garmin RV 760LMT which is the RV 660LMT :h
Seems like a newer version would have a higher number, not lower... but...
Anyway, it is the version I recently got but have not towed my TT using it yet. The RV 660LMT seems to have good options and I am quite familiar with Garmin GPS units including the traffic updates which have always worked well for me traveling in different cities for work. The RV 660LMT also works in conjunction with the new Garmin wireless back-up camera BC30. - SCVJeffExplorer

I'll put my "adapted toy" up against your "real" GPS any day. Do you even know what that means? They are both computers, smartphones being WAY faster, and both use the exact same database.
best Garmin you can afford, or want to pay for. you want a GPS, get a GPS not an adapted toy.

So what's the difference? - BumpyroadExplorertwice traffic alerts have popped up on my Garmin. One showed construction but that section merely had jersey walls on both side of I-95 in Richmond. the other indicated traffic issues. I much prefer using my CB to ask truckers coming from where I'm going to get advice.
bumpy - tchilExplorerThe 760 does have traffic. It all depends on where you are and if that section of hwy has traffic sensors. So an accident in the middle of nowhere probably not but between Colorado Springs and Denver it will. It tells you how long the delay and gives you options to take an alternate route. The traffic feature is built in and has a traffic reciever built into the power cord.
If you link it to your phone by bluetooth for a small fee (I think it was $10 Lifetime) you can have weather and HD traffic as well. The weather is a great feature. It will warn you if there is any significant weather on a route if you have a destination set. It then overlays the weather radar in real time onto your map screen. I have used it to drive right up to and then stop for the night in a snow storm. High wind and other weather will also show up and warn you with a beep and a red banner across the top of the screen. You can click on it and read the weather warning from NOAA.
What I will add though is that Garmin is not very good at keeping up with my Iphone software versions. A lot of times i cannot link my phone to the GPS because the phone is on a newer updated OS and Garmin has not updated their software to be compatible. Also one other issue I have with the RV 760 is that the RV length, width, Height stuff is mostly worthless at least in my area. Anytime I get off a hwy with it in that mode it tells me I am on my own and is annoying. I just keep it in car mode. - GulfcoastExplorerA question on the Garmin 760LMT... If you're on the interstate, if there's a traffic backup, will it show up on the GPS?

We just got this one. This is our third GPS over the years. Haven't had it very long but like it very much so far. Big screen. - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIGoogle Maps allows you to download an entire area to your phone while you have an internet connection available and it then works exactly like a stand-alone GPS when you are outside of cellular coverage. The same satellites will direct you whether you are using your phone or a GPS only unit. Just can't say enough good about Google vs. my Garmin. If you get stuck in traffic (must be cell signal there!) switch to WAZE but be prepared to be directed through some neighborhood to get around that traffic.

A new iPhone with GPS uses satelites just like a regular GPS stand alone.
With it you can have dozens of specialized apps for whatever needs you have.
You also get a decent pocket camera.
Yup. NEWER iPhones have real GPS. Android phones always did. - BumpyroadExplorerbest Garmin you can afford, or want to pay for. you want a GPS, get a GPS not an adapted toy.
