Tracfone contracts with Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile for service, but each model phone is carrier specific. Most MVNO's, including Tracfone, do not have access to the primary carrier's roaming partners. Since Verizon has the largest number of directly owned/leased tower locations though, they are still the best choice for the widest coverage. If another carrier works better in your primary locations of course, that's a different deal...
