The only computer I have running Windows 7 is a laptop that is used only occasionally. It has not been turned on for over a month. That being the case it is not unusual that when I do use it there are several updates. I just checked with it and it has 23 that are installing as I type. Something to note is that not all updates from MS are to the operating system. Some of those updates are often for other MS programs so really depends on what is installed on the machine.
