Windows 8 comes with Internet Explorer 10 which can be upgraded to Internet Explorer 11. After upgrading to IE 11 and finding out that it has major problems, you can remove the upgrade and revert back to IE 10 which isn't quite so bad. If you upgrade Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 you automatically get IE 11 and can't go back to IE 10. You also can not go back to Windows 8 without doing a complete system reload back to factory settings. I have 2 Windows 8 machines that I upgraded to 8.1 the day it was made available. They have both been reloaded to Windows 8 factory settings. My Windows 8 laptop has WIDI (wireless display) and it works flawlessly. A friend has the same machine and he upgraded to W 8.1 and his WIDI would not work. I talked him into reloading W 8 and his WIDI now works as mine does.
