After all, PC's are machines that you push the "Start" button to shut it down. I approach every new issue with that in mind :)
Anyhoo gotta go check on our Win8 machine- doing a full reset on it because it thinks it's owners are now temporary users. Wasted a couple hours of my life already trying this and that to fix the issue from some great info on the web - nothing worked so far... so trying the full reset.
