Verizon is our carrier. We do not want smart phones and do not text.
We got Samsung Convoys. Meets Mil Specs for drop and vibration, is water resistant and has big numbers on the screen. Will take pictures and videos. I take pictures sometimes but have not used the video feature.
The battery will last one or two weeks with the phone on 24/7 - depending on how much we talk on them.
We do not have a data plan for the phones but do have one with an aircard/usb modem. It is plugged into a wireless router with a home network. Our two laptops, two Kindle E-readers,two Kindle Fire tablets and a wireless printer are all connected to the network/internet via the router (CradlePoint MBR95).
