Thought I owed an update. We are back from our 7 weeks out this winter. As my dad used to sway ("that slimline 3 and the Genie are the berries")
I bought the roof mount one from amazon because it was the most economical. For the lnb arm I bought three 1/4 inch thumb screws for mounting. I could not find ones that big with as flange on them so i bought long enough ones and spun a nut down on them for the flange. it took little time to screw the lnb arm on.
My challenge was a mast of the correct diameter. So one day i was in the VFW complaining and the guy next to me (Jim) said he had one of those things that he had to dig up from his yard because DTV would not do it. Two beers later, i was in hog heaven with the correct diameter mast.
I found a tripod at Radio Shack.
beaming in the sat was a piece of cake. usually hit some beeps and went from there on the first swing.
Thanks for all the meaningful/good input.
