You might consider a tablet with a 12v plug and dash mount or even a large smart phone (deactivate the screensaver and pick the mapping app you like).
A 7" model is bigger than most units and they almost all come with built in GPS. If the eyes are real bad, go for the 10" model.
When our beloved nuvi dies, it's probably not getting replaced with a unitasker.
