If you're a "techie" and like to experiment around then get the android. Go on Ebay and buy a used Galaxy S2 or S3, load up a custom ROM like Cyanogenmod and have fun, plus you can activate the used customer owned phone on your carrier (I like AT&T) with no contract. Ios is so closed you can't really fool with it. Wife has a Iphone 6 and I've got a Galaxy S5 and I wouldn't trade with her for anything. As far as I can determine there are a lot more apps on Play Store. I promise you that a smart phone will be your favorite piece of equipment as soon as you start finding out all you can do with it. I use it for navigating, listening to internet radio, golf GPS, engine analyzer via OBDII port, and hundreds of other useful things. Good luck.
