Antenna pointer apps are nice to get in the general area, but it's not unheard of to find a solid reflection off the side of a mountain. The Sensar Pro is a great tool for fine tuning things like this
Signal meters are nice, although TVFOOL does include 3-D terrain "Coverage Maps" that indicate coverage dropouts and reflective angles for rception and a lot of "signal analysis" tutorials for those just starting out.
And your point is....Wait! I remember you, you were waving at us during the Love Ride! :) - wa8yxmExplorer IIIIf you have a Winegard SENSAR II or III (The two antennas we often call a "Batwing") then you really should add the "WINGMAN" for improved UHF performance.
The WINGMAN (which is pictured above) is a 3 element UHF Director array
IT POINTS toward the antenna.
Without it, same position for the batwing
Additional performance improvement can be had by replacing your antenna switch wall plate (inside the RV) with a SENSAR PRO module.. Several advanced features including improved performance. (How I'm watching a Colombo from yesterday Morning as I type). - SCVJeffExplorer

be careful about cranking the gain up when not needed. It can swamp the system where nothing will work. Other than that they're cool
Just installed my Winegard Sensar, it works great! Pulling in more channels and makes pointing the antennae a snap! - janstey58ExplorerJust installed my Winegard Sensar, it works great! Pulling in more channels and makes pointing the antennae a snap!

- tplifeExplorerI installed this app on my smartphone to use it as a pointer:
Antenna Pointer
I use this site to input my address to see what channels are in range, and to get the direction in degrees:
TV Fool Reception Guide
Then simply adjust the antenna to match the direction of the pointer in the Antenna Pointer App. Don't sweat it if you have your (VHF) antenna pointed backwards, it will still get nearly the same FM signal. Just don't try that with the UHF antenna, It's like "wearing your (bow) tie backwards, LOL. :B - janstey58ExplorerThis will help, I just bought one and will install this weekend. It even has amplification built in.
