Why Does Camping World Advertise Items they don't have?

Why Does Camping World Advertise Items they don't have in stock?

Numerous times I've gone into the CW store in Vacaville, CA only to find out the advertised items, from their mailings, are out of stock.

I always get the same answer from employees : "oh, we just sold the last one".

It could be possible but when I hear that response, I think its just their standard answer to something.......

Now last week I ordered 3 Maxx Air roof vent covers along with a few other items. Only 2 of the vent covers were shipped.

It should be noted that my credit card was charged in the full amount for these items.

Upon contacting CW via their online 'chat' method, I was told the warehouse was shipping the 3rd vent cover that day.

Its been 5 days and I still have not been able to get a shipping tracking number from CW.

I have telephoned, only to be put on hold so long that I hung up, emailed and another online 'chat'.

Still no information from CW.

I don't think CW shipped my 3rd vent cover and that they outright lie about it......

  • To sucker you into the store so you'll buy something else that they'll make more money on.
  • Probably some fine print in the flyer "Limited quantities available" or similar. But it gets people into the store. A common and successful marketing ploy no matter what the store name is.
  • Find a "bad" attorney and sue, sue, sue. That's what most of the complainers on here would do. :S
