WiFi, and Cell Phone boosters and Internet antennas

Nor am I a geek but we are having success with Verizon Elipsis hot spot. It costs $ per month but it allows us to get on the internet when all else fails namely the typical campground wifi.
We also have some success streaming movies with our smart TV until Verizon slows everything down due to overloading.

Is the issue signal strength or, more likely, RV park bandwidth?

The more specific you can be, the more help and suggestions we can give you. What plan and equipment do you have now, and what are you hoping to accomplish? Is your 6 months mostly stationery or are you constantly changing locations? How heavy of an internet user are you?

We spend summers away from Florida. We are avid internet users and my wife still works a day or so a week and needs good solid internet access for upload g and downloading pictures and large documents.

It’s been an evolutionary process but here where we’re at and it seems to be working.

Firstly, rarely is RV park free WiFi adequate. If you’re s standing next to an antenna and do a speed test and it’s slow, an WiFi antenna/booster won’t help. And I ain’t paying for Tengonet.

We have Verizon iPhone 8’s which are pretty fast with a good tower signal BUT even with an so called unlimited plan, we ran into throttling issues which made downloading impossible. Weak signals are another issue.

Someone here put up a post about OTRmobile. They offer unlimited, no throttling, data only service on ATT towers for $60/mo no contract.

So if Verizon doesn’t cut it ATT might. So far its been solid.

Now we address signal strength. I’m a cheapskate and I put off buying a Wilson Weboost RV for a year or so but finally broke down this spring and hit the bullet.

What a difference!! Ignore the bars. I do speed tests. Even with a good signal the Weboost usually doubles the speed.

So far it’s working.

Anyone tried the Togo Roadlink C2 which is ATT and Wingard? Wingard provides a dome with three WIFI antennas and ATT the service for $360/year unlimited

Verizon has very good coverage all over the place.

But they throttle if the towers are busy. You need an alternative too.

I've never been throttled.

Yes. Installed the TOGO last month so not a lot of time yet but, it's been functioning flawlessly 24/7 since my installation on our coach. Read David Bott's Reviews on the TOGO if you would like more information. We also have Verizon phones that we use as back-up when necessary. Reliable internet access seems to require us to have redundancy and AT&T coupled with Verizon networks have worked well.

Remember when we went RVing to get away from it all? :)
