Apple went to FREE OS version upgrade model several iterations ago. Don't hear a lot of MAC users demanding paid OS upgrades back? Wonder what the price is being paid for FREE on a MAC?
The cost of the machine is the price being paid for FREE on a MAC. Apple is a closed ecosystem - they already got your money for the computer. Not so with Microsoft.
