I find that win8.1 boots faster than win7 and after a short learning curve I am totally happy with it. I can set it up so it boots to my win7 type display and only go to the win8.1 tile display when I need to access control panel or something like that.
After reading the privacy statement for win10 decided that I prefer win8.1 and don't see any compelling reason to upgrade. If you want or need some of the hand holding, advertising, assistant type of features then it might be worthwhile to switch. Think I will use win8.1 until they stop support.
