I have tried to get this to work for over a year, and I see my interest in Zorin was VERY well founded. XP lovers, this may be something you want.
In Linux everyone has his/her own reasons to love (or hate) a distro: ease of installation of a particular make of device (printer, scanner...), typing in languages other than English...
Windows-like operation is the least important of them.
In my opinion to be successful in Linux you have to cut the cord to the Windows mindset.
I installed my Brother DCP-7065DN printer/scanner just by using Google. The reason to get many 'hits' is my distro - Linux Mint - is the most popular right now. But I use Mint Maya, which is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS based (LTS= Long Term Support) but not the more recent releases.
Zorin is also Ubuntu based, so that must be OK though, as for me I recommend Mint Maya Mate or Ubuntu 12.04.3 (LTS).
Ubuntu 12.04.3 will work like... Windows 8, some Windows 8 haters are going to cringe, but there is way to change that - less complicated than the 'START' button fix though.
If you don't like Windows 8 look alike, actually Ubuntu started this interface before Windows, you can use other flavors like Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Kubuntu. Xubuntu is XP look alike, Lubuntu for feather weight hardware.
You can go to Distrowatch.com to see a list of the distros.
