Had S&T installed on old laptop with Windows Vista. Have new laptop with Windows 10. When I try to install S&T a box appears asking if I want this program to make changes to my computer, yes or no. No is highlighted. Yes is in regular type. What happens if I respond "Yes"? I'm wondering if S&T can be installed on different computers using the same cd. I'm over my head with this stuff.Thanks for your comments.

The message is a standard warning message generated when any program tries to install software. It's a warning in case something tries to install something without your knowledge. In this case since you are wanting to install the software select yes. I have heard that S&T doesn't work on Win 10 but I don't use it so don't know for sure.

It does work on 10. I have it on two computers.

I have a 2002 version of S & T and it works on this Windows 10.

It saddens me that S&T is no longer being marketed. I used to buy it every other year and found it to be a handy, quick and easy reference to have on my desktop. I know there are other alternatives on line but I found it to be fast and easy to check out alternative routes, campgrounds, hotels, restaurants, etc. at destination locations.

Ok, Windows assumes you are stupid and wants you to know changes will be made to your disc when you install software. also when you clean, or ... Now in truth, this may be a good thing because there are others out there (not you and as you will see I'm not being patronizing or anything here) Who want to install software on YOUR computer (see why I said I really mean not you) Without your permission, or even your knowledge. So when you are INSTALLING software, You answer "YES" when you are running a program like Malware Bytes or CCLeaner you answer YES.. but if it pops up and you do not know why You answer NO and then run your Anti Virus scan. This is a feature of 7 and above as I recall.. I know I get it on my 7 Box.. Every time I start it since there is a program that does make changesPain in the.. Well, it's a pain let's just put it this way, at least on that box.

Numerous programs do not have any updates such is the case with S&T. Microsoft has never been big on backwards compatibility.

Thanks everyone for all the good info and I will check them out.
Will do the newest updates to windows 10 and reinstall S&T and I will turn off the firewall and anti virus while I do the install, I will look into an antenna too if needed.

If you cannot get it to run, turn off your protection and firewall for the time you need to load it.

If you still have problems. Click the word Compatability in the lower left part of your start screen. Learn how to run S&T install in that mode.

Just a general note about Windows 10.

The best practice is to be sure you download the newest updated version of any program or app to put on Win10. This is where some folks have had problems with 10.

I would update this program asap.

For some odd reason we cannot figure out our Streets and trips 2013 quit working on our computer that has windows XP. The wife upgraded to Windows 10 and it works fine. We do not try to use it for navigation just trip planning.

I had S&T on a W7 upgraded to a W10 on a HP Desktop and it works fine.
Installed 2013 S&T on a W10 HP Laptop with the GPS puck it came with and it work fine.

I use Desktop for planning daily trips and then move trip to HP Laptop with no problem.
When traveling I use the laptop S&T just to check with my main GPS program on iPad running CoPilot to the next saved stop.

You say that the gps antenna is junk! do you know if their is one that will work and were can I get it ? If I can get a antenna to work I won't have to go back to windows 7, I really like my S&T

Any USB GPS from Amazon or BestBuy will work, once installed go into Streets and have it search for GPS, should pop right up.
