Windows 10 Question.

A few months ago W 10 was automatically downloaded to my laptop. OK, so everything worked well for sometime. About 3-4 weeks ago something happened, not sure what, but a number of the apps that came with W 10 originally no longer work. Again, not sure what happen, but would like to get those apps working again.

Anyone else experience this and know how to fix the problem?

  • I Downloaded W 10 and it created an Icon "Removed Apps". Clicked on it and it had some that would not load and some that can be reloaded. ?? Tom
  • I hate it that they call them apps now. That's for phones. I have a PC with full applications. I don't use any apps as I find them to be generally useless. IMHO.

Ok, Windows 10 comes with many apps.. Some are basic time wasters like Mahjong but to work properly it must connect to the net. Others are "Office" type apps (productvity) and those are limited trail offers.. You are supposed to get hooked and then have to spend hundres of dollars more to use them..

(I deleted them and installed Apache Open office)

We updated four LAPTOPs to WIN 10 when the changeover first came out... This was on two WIN 8.1 Laptops and Two WIN 7 laptops. I run my main WIN 8.1 converted LAPTOP in WIN 7 mode with ICONs down the left main screen and TOOLBAR across the bottom. I am running a PHOTO SCREENSAVER for the background Monitor views. I am using my Windows MS 2007 OFFICE Software including MS OUTLOOK for Email and running either FIREFOX or GOOGLE Chrome on it. Did not sign-up for any of the subscriptions offered with WIN 10. I only use the WIN 10 EDGE for a couple of card games that came with it. About the only APP I am using is the CALENDAR for keeping tracks of my monthly bills.

I have had to reset one WIN 8.1 converted LAPTOPs to its early restore point for problems a few months back. Early on I had to the same thing with one of the WIN 7 converted LAPTOPS.

I hate it when the UPDATES comes out... Always something doesn't work after this happens.

Hoping to get past today's upgrades in flying colors... All LAPTOPS are up and running here just fine...

  • There is a new big update coming out today.

With your present problem. Go back to a restore point before the problem started.
