When Windows starts an update, the first thing it does is to create a System Restore point. This allows the user to revert back in case something goes wrong. You'll want to perform a System Restore.
As an aside, I updated three computers from Win 7 to Win 10 - Two computers are okay, but the third would not run an older software program. (Same software on all three machines.) I ended by restoring backward to Win 7 on that one machine.
