I went from 7 to 10 on one of my PCs and I'm still running Office Pro 2003 with no ill effects.
Since windows 8, I've been using "Classic Shell" to avoid dealing with the tiled desktop BS. It's the only way I can get anything done. It's freeware and indispensable.
