You can subscribe to Office 365 which, as long as your subscription is current, allows you to download and install the latest version of Office.
Don't forget, an Office 365 subscription also gives you a 1TB storage quota on OneDrive, rather than the 15GB minimum quota.
If you're working with multiple computers, Office 365 Home, gets the same coverage for up to 5 PCs at a time -- for less than Office 365 Personal for 2 PCs a year.
Since the cloud subscription price I was paying on other services costs as much as the O365 subscription price, I look at it as buying my cloud storage and getting Office for free!
(And, yes, Bumpy, I DO also use a portable HD for additional backup. "Belt & suspenders.")
