Is it a laptop or PC?
When my laptop does that it is because of the battery.
I too went thru all the crazies of it had to be something wrong with the computer itself.
Either the plug was loose or I had not had the laptop plugged into an outlet for awhile and after power outages. And the battery light does not function properly.
