For sure, I would listen to those here urging you to be 100% sure that the air flow (incoming and outgoing) is unrestricted. Have you verified your pc fan is still working? Also, be sure when operating the computer to be sure you do not have it placed on top of cloth...something that would restrict airflow in any manner.
Is this issue happening when the pc is plugged in to power and in fact the pc is external powered.
Are you sure you have all the RAM that your pc is suppose to have? RAM can go bad.
After doing the above and assuming you still have the issue, I would do a clean install of Windows 7. Format and then reinstall Win 7.
