Winegard RoadTrip T4 Satellite Antenna

Hi, New owner of a Class A ... I am looking to add this to my RV for our long road trips , It is hard to find any recent reviews on in motion satellite antennas performance. I am looking for feedback from the forum on this product or is there a better option out there ? please let me know your thoughts, Thanks in advance
  • Personally and because their total lack of customer support or customer care I would not recomend Winegard anything.
  • While I think the Winegard antenna is as good as any on the market, I really don't recommend domes at all these days. They limit your viewing pretty dramatically and they lose signal while driving when you go under a bridge, behind a tree or light pole and programming is interrupted momentarily over and over again.
Also, if you are a DirecTV customer you cannot receive ANY HD programming and if you are a Dish customer the antenna can only lock onto 1 satellite at a time making using a DVR a problem and using more than 1 receiver can cause the same conflicts. I prefer and open face antenna and a good DVR. This way I can watch recorded programming while driving without any interruption and in full HD.
  • I have a rooftop dome that is never used.

I use a carryout auto seek dome; Winegard Pathway X2. With your smartphone and Dishpointer AR you can locate the sats in the sky and place your dome where you can get a signal. The Pathway has the advantage of seeking both east and west arcs.

Just plug it in, the menu comes up on your tv via the 211Z SAT box and you click and sit back. HD with DISH only.

There are no carryouts for Directv HD.

If you want in motion go with sat radio.

X 2 Winegard's customer support and technical assistance has gone downhill in the last few years to the point that I also could not recommend any of it's products other than the Pathway X2.
