Winegard Sensar Antenna issues.

Hello All,
Just wanting to make sure of something. I am getting 0 zero signal strength showing on my television in my camper. Everything worked fine last year and to start this year it is not. The the button is pushed in, the light is on that is suppose to send power to the booster. I checked the coax that connects to the antenna and it showed 12 volts. Is my antenna bad? I replaced the head two years ago and would think it would last longer. Thanks for the help.
  • The I have adjusted the antenna and the bar never moves from 0. I have tried this at the campsite and in my driveway.
  • I can see then antenna signal strength on the tv screen and can receive the one local channel. In the past I would receive many more. Just wondering how to check the winegard sensar antenna.

I can think of several possible issues but we will do it this way

A friend of mine his call suffex was CNL Connection Now Loose

I would check all connecitons, both ends of every coax between antenna and TV.. they do come loose,, cables can pull out (Those crimp on connectors are nice and strong I mean ah-ah-ah-ah-CHOO and off they pop) (I use Compression fittings.. YOu can get them to pull off too but.. Well, Takes a LOT of effort and/or power tools).

And even though the roof cable deliverd 12 volt to the antenna head......

    The cable may need replacement.
  • The amplifiers in the antennas can and do go bad. There is not much in there but I had one go bad. I tried cleaning up contacts etc. but to no avail.

You can replace the head without the arms.
  • Did you run a new scan on the TV? Last years scan may not still be in the TV 's memory.

If you are still at home, connect TV to home antenna and run scan. If nothing found TV is the problem.
  • Here's a link to an article on "Tuning up your antenna":
    Tuning up your antenna

When aiming your antenna don't go by the arrow on the knob. This arrow is used to position the antenna for stowing. If the arrow is pointing north the antenna is pointing either east or west.
