No, you do not need to disconnect your receiver(s) from the Winegard SWM Trav'ler. The electronics lock out the receiver during the search routine and restore a connection once the search is completed.

Is this still true if you retrofit an SK-3005 with a SWM8 switch to make it into a SWM version? What part of the system locks out the receiver since this wouldn't have been required with a Slimline-5 setup?

I have mine converted to SWM and it works with or without receiver.
