Winegard sk3005 install

Evening,

Planning the install of my 3005 to SWM type conversion, and have question.

Is the SWM Multi switch weatherproof enough to allow me to attach it to to roof and run my 4 connections directly there then one line through the coach?

Sure would make my install much easier, and much less cable if I only had to run one line to the underbelly.

Looking on line it says indoor outdoor, but I am not sure whats actually in there. :-)
  • Yes, but the power supply will need to be inside, so most like to install both pieces are inside behind the TV
  • The Verizon installer put my SWM switch on the roof, I have 2 TVs so at the sat he used 1 connection for each TV then used 1 for power from the power supply inside the coach and the other is not connected at all unless you have 3 TVs.
  • You really do not want to install the SWM inside. You will make your job much more difficult than necessary. Use 4 short jumper cables to run between the base of the Trav'ler to the SWM and then connect your existing cables to the outputs. If you like, install the SWM where it is located under the reflector of the antenna when stowed.
It's fully weather proof buy you need to use compression fittings on the coax cables and some di-electric grease in the F connectors to ensure long term success.
