I sometimes do this kind of stuff.
Now, since I'm not a professional technician there are limits to what I will do, For example I really do not like tearing up the walls of an RV to dig out the coax cable.
When we (The owner and I) had one that gave us fits we took a length of coax and ran it direct from the back fo the wall box to the antenna via a window. Worked.. This narrowed the problem to the coax and the connector in the roof.
Turned out to be teh connector in the roof.
