In this case you are correct it doesn't matter since the SK3003 is only for SD, but for HD the dish and LNB do care. For HD Direct uses two satellites that broadcast on the Ka band which is a higher frequency than the Ku band used by Direct for SD. The Dish satellites broadcast on the Ku band.
Ku band 12 to 18 GHz
Ka band 26.5 to 40 GHz
