Ok, when you said "Roadstar" you said it all.. This is one of the omni-directional "Flying Saucers" you see on many RV.s.. It is also junk, no gain to speak of (other than electronic amplifier gain) short range (Like the TV station transmitter site parking lot short, ok, I exaggrate) and subject to multi-path interference.. A killer in the digital age.
Replace with a Winegard Sensar IV, Directional antenna (Will require drilling) and replace the wall plate (Switch, Light, 12 volt outlet and antenna connection) with a Senssar Pro.. You will like the results much better when you take aim.
