The
Winegard Carryout is not an outdated device and is currently performing as designed on your rig. It is only capable of receiving Directv standard definition (SD) content and locking into a single satellite. Currently, there aren't any satellite domes that can provide Directv high definition (HD) programming, most of us use an appropriate dish mounted on a tripod/stand to acquire Directv HD channels. CW sells this automatic roof-mounted
dish that is capable of acquiring multiple satellites delivering every channel Directv offers including HD content. Personally, that last option was too pricey for the amount of tv we watched, we purchased a HD dish from Ebay and use a home-made stand to receive all the Directv channels we have at home taking just a few minutes to set-up.
