Wireless Back up camera options for Dezl/RV 760LMT

Hi Folks,

I searched the archives but could not find the answers I'm looking for so I have a few question for any Garmin Dezl/RV 760LMT GPS owners out there.

1. Are there any other camera options for a wireless camera for this GPS other than the Garmin BC 20 camera unit?

2. Can the back up camera be used as a rear view monitor through the 760 while the RV is in forward motion? (for lane change assist, etc.)

3. How difficult is a wireless camera install and can one do it his/her self or is a mechanic/professional installer required?

4. Do you own the Dezl 760 or the RV 760 and would you recommend either to other RV'ers?

Thanks in advanced.
Ron
  • I have an RV 760 with the BC 20 camera. It all works well. I did the install myself. Not too difficult if you are the DIY type
Image is fine from rear of my 40' long fiver to cab of truck.
I did need to buy the extension cable.
Camera can be used to view traffic while in motion. Camera does not see/work very well in the dark.
The BC-20 is a relatively cheap camera option if you own a Garmin GPS. I like the the fact I did not need an additional monitor in the cab. Having the ability to use the GPS screen as a back up camera and GPS display sealed the deal for me.
  • Garmin offers a wireless camera for the 760. They also offer it as a package.
The Manual mentions a composite camera. Not sure what that is.
The 760 trucking and RV models have RV profiles. I have a Dezel 560 (5" version). It works very well for automobile, truck and RV profile. The RV model only has RV and automobile.
I load custom POI's (Point Of Interest) into my Garmin from POI Factory. They are more complete and update than what you will find on the GPS.
