Word for Mac

I have Word for Mac on my lap top. Every thing I have ever received in the Word format scrolls across my screen when I open it up. For the life of me I cannot figure our how to delete these documents and stop this from happening. They are not in the documents folder or the down load folder. It is odd that if I receive an email with a word document it automatically goes some where and I can never get to it to delete it. It is so annoying I some times yell at the screen.

  • In Word for Windows, the recently open files show up on the left side of the screen. You can either pin them so they stay or you can right click and remove all that are not pined.

Under [files][options] you can set the number of recent doc to show.

    Mac ????? . . . .:h

When HELL freezes over........I worked for a company that used windows computers. I lost all my hair from pulling it out over frustrations with the operating system. Right out of the boxes half the equipment would not work......then I got a job with the state and they used windows. Every time they would do an up date it would take a couple of days of patches to get the system to function correctly. So when Apple no longer makes computers I will quit computing.......

For the past 20 years, I made my living doing software development on the Windows platform. Never had any of the problems you describe. At 63 years old and retired, I still have a full head of hair (although it's getting kind of grey).

  • The files are moved to a temporary folder, as EV2 said unless you "Save As..." you will not be able to easily find them.

As far as the width you should be able to change that in the View menu.

Which version of Word are you using?
  • If you are not saving that, there is nothing to delete. If you click on that in email it assumes you want to see it and it opens. If you want to save it you can determine where it is saved. Otherwise, just close it. When you delete the email it is gone.
