Well, I went and had a look at the dodge and took it out for a spin. I'm not going to lie guys, she was a little bit rougher than I had hoped but it's not out the window yet.
90,000 miles. It is the Dodge Power Wagon Adventurer W?200. The guys grandpa bought it in 1980 and it has made its way through the family since.
A couple of things I noticed. The power steering had a leak, doubt it would be a huge issue to find the fix if not just some hoses?
The passenger side manifold is cracked and makes the thing pretty loud. It ran a little rough until it was warmed up then it seemed to idle pretty well after that. The belts all need replacing and I'm honestly surprised they are still holding up by the look of it. One of the ceiling panels had leaked in the past but looks like it is replaceable. It looks like a couple hours and a tube of caulk wouldn't hurt it.
It has a large backup battery that charges with the motor. It has an auxiliary fuel tank and it has air bags on the back. Apparently everything works on the inside (fridge, stove, heater, water). Being 6'3" tall, it is a couple inches short but nothing that I couldn't live with.
So, now that we know a bit more about it, any new thoughts? I'm thinking about splitting what I offered and what he came down to since I will easily be spending $500+ before I get it down the road for some actual use.
